I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new and continuing Year 11 students, as well as parents and guardians. Students are entering an exciting new chapter in their Senior Schooling journey, with it being the first year that students are enrolled in QCAA Authority subjects, the International Baccalaureate or enrolling in various Vocational Certificate courses. Along with these new academic challenges, students also gain the privilege of leaving school on a Wednesday afternoon to continue independent study. Students may also organise into study groups, or continue working on assessment at school.
During the year, students will also have many opportunities to get involved in various programs, activities and events. Additional to these, specific Year 11 activities that students can look forward to include the Year 11 Social (24 March), Leadership Day (Term 3), and various leadership activities throughout the year, culminating in Senior Leader Elections going into Year 12.
Students have also received a Senior Handbook and attached Senior Agreement. Please take the time to read through the handbook carefully. Senior Agreements need to be signed by the parent/guardian and returned to Administration by Monday 30 January. Students who do not return a complete Senior Agreement will be required to remain at school on Wednesday Period 4.
My role is to support our Year 11 students, parents/guardians and staff to ensure that students have an enjoyable and rewarding Year 11 experience while developing skills and habits that will set them up for their final schooling year. If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact me on email@example.com or 3327 8326.
I look forward to an exciting year with all of our Year 11 students.
