  • Dear Senior Students,

Please take a look at the latest edition of the School-Based Traineeships and Apprenticeships Newsletter.

School Based Traineeship & Apprenticeship Newsletter Term 3 Week 7

In this newsletter, you will find school-based traineeship and apprenticeship positions in various fields such as: Engineering, Carpentry, Hairdressing, Hospitality, Commercial Cookery, and Business.

If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please send your resume to Mr. Reid.

School-based traineeships and apprenticeships offer many benefits such as

    • earning a wage,
    • work experience,
    • nationally recognised qualifications, and
    • credit towards your QCE points.

Certificate courses are funded by the government and cost free. You will also gain confidence by practicing your employability skills; however, school-based traineeships/apprenticeships require an impact on the students timetable, typically being:

    • a day away from school to work/train, and
    • a study line
If you are taking any course/s outside of school or have completed a work experience program during the holidays, please contact Matt Reid (HOD – Partnerships, Digital Learning, Aerospace & Aviation) on for support. The information will also help our Guidance Officers and Academic Coaches to provide you with better pathway advice.
