Open Day is one of the highlights of the Indooroopilly SHS calendar because we get to show everyone what’s amazing about our school and why we love it.
Indro is proud to offer a world class education that cultivates global citizenship and connection.
Visitors to Open Day 2019 on 23 May got the opportunity to talk to Indro’s passionate, dedicated teachers about our innovative Junior Secondary Excellence Programs in Maths and Engineering Acceleration, Music Acceleration, Spanish Immersion and Chinese Acceleration, the International Baccalaureate and the many other facets of our quality Junior and Senior curricula.
One of the stars of the day was Nao, one of two robots who will be joining Indooroopilly State High by the end of term to work with Junior Students in languages and coding. Nao speaks English, Spanish and Chinese and will be part of Indro’s efforts to take our robotics and digital technology to industry.
Architects’ plans for Indro’s Innovation and Design Centre, which will be ready for the 2020 school year, were on display at Open Day.
The building features 20 new classrooms, including a Mechatronics and Robotics Lab, purpose-built Design Laboratory advancing innovation and design thinking projects, Film and Multimedia Production Studio, outdoor learning spaces, a courtyard, bike rack storage and a STEM Laboratory.
